TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1.1 The DVD Buyer only deals with sellers who are based in the UK, with a UK address. We are not able to collect from an address outside the UK mainland (i.e. Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands and the Channel Islands). If unsure, please query this with The DVD Buyer.
1.2 You must be over 18 or you must have consent from your parent or guardian to sell your items.
1.3 If you change your mind about sending any items to The DVD Buyer, or if you wish to include some additional DVDs, Blu-Rays or video games, email The DVD Buyer quoting your reference number prior to sending the items so that The DVD Buyer can recalculate the price that The DVD Buyer will pay to you. Failure to contact The DVD Buyer in advance may delay the processing of your items because the lot The DVD Buyer receives will not be complete or will differ from what is expected.
2. QUALITY OF DVDs, BLU-RAYs AND VIDEO GAMES
2.1 Subject to the terms set out below, The DVD Buyer will accept any DVD, UMD, Blu-Ray or video game for the PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, PSP and Nintendo DS. The DVD Buyer does not purchase CDs, PC games/software, PS1/PS2 and Xbox games or HD-DVDs.
2.2 Items must be fully original and complete with all original discs and packaging, inlays and booklets if the product was sold as new with these items. Under no circumstances will The DVD Buyer ever accept copied or pirated items and if The DVD Buyer receives such goods, The DVD Buyer will contact the relevant authorities and will not return the items. The DVD Buyer will not accept any promotional copies of any kind, whether from a newspaper promotion, magazine promotion or otherwise.
2.3 The DVD Buyer will accept Region 1/Region A items (those originally produced in the USA), but The DVD Buyer will not accept any “DVD9” or other Asian imported copies.
2.4 The DVD Buyer can only purchase items that are found on The DVD Buyer's database. The vast majority of DVDs released in the UK are contained. However some non-UK DVDs and most "adult" DVDs are not found and therefore can not be purchased.
2.5 Items must have English writing on the cases. The DVD Buyer will not accept any items with foreign writing on the case unless this is the only format that the item is available in (e.g. The DVD Buyer will not accept a version of Titanic that was brought in Spain and has Spanish writing on the case even though it is not a copy, but The DVD Buyer will accept a foreign language film such as Pan's Labyrinth purchased in the UK).
2.6 All items must be in good, fully working condition without heavy scratches on the discs and with no tears, non-removable stickers or other damage to the cases. The DVD Buyer will accept items with some general wear and tear, such as the odd scuff mark on the case and light scratches on the discs which do not affect playability. If The DVD Buyer has to replace a case because it is damaged in any way, The DVD Buyer reserves the right to deduct 20p per case from the total amount payable to you.
2.7 Other than copied or pirated items, if The DVD Buyer receives any items which do not fit the quality set out in these terms and conditions, The DVD Buyer may return the items to you and The DVD Buyer will not pay you for these particular items. The DVD Buyer reserves the right to return to you all of the DVDs, Blu-Rays or video games sent to The DVD Buyer if some of the items do not meet the quality standards set out in these terms and conditions.
3. POSTAGE
3.1 You must send your DVDs, Blu-Rays or video games to The DVD Buyer within two week of receiving an email from The DVD Buyer confirming the price offered. Otherwise please email The DVD Buyer to confirm the price again. This is because prices of items can change very regularly.
3.2 Please ensure that you include your reference number and email address in the package so that The DVD Buyer can process your items promptly.
3.3 Items must be sent in one package unless otherwise specifically agreed with The DVD Buyer
3.4 Items should be packaged securely, as The DVD Buyer cannot be held responsible for items that are damaged in transit. Please do not secure the items together with each other by wrapping sticky tape around them as this often damages the cases by ripping cardboard casing or leaving sticky residue - if you wish to secure the items together just use an elastic band or string, for example. Please ensure that the label is clearly printed and attached..
3.5 The DVD Buyer will not be held liable for any items lost in transit. The courier automatically covers compensation upto £50. Should you require any additional compensation cover, please discuss and arrange with The DVD Buyer before the courier is ordered.
4. PAYMENT
4.1 All payments will be made in pound sterling and in accordance with the information set out on this page.
